Celebrating 20 Years of Linzi Grace School of Dance – A Message from the Linzi

Twenty years ago, I stood in the Penrhyn Bay hall with a lovely group of friends who were to become my first students, a cd player, and a head full of dreams. I’d just returned home after completing a full-time scholarship at the Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre in Liverpool, and I knew I wanted to bring everything I had learned back to my community. I wanted to create a space where young dancers could grow, thrive, and feel supported—not just in their dancing, but in who they are.

That’s how Linzi Grace School of Dance began.

Today, two decades later, I look back in awe at how far we’ve come. From humble beginnings, we now teach hundreds of dancers across our Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno Junction and Llanrhos studios. We’ve held countless shows, exams, workshops, summer schools and events—but most importantly, we’ve built a community.

Our school is about more than just dance steps and performances. It’s about kindness, confidence, friendship, opportunity, and excellence—values that have shaped every decision I’ve made since day one. Whether it’s a shy three-year-old in their first ballet class or a teenager preparing for professional training, every dancer that walks through our doors matters. Every dancer is seen, celebrated, and encouraged to be the best version of themselves.

This 20-year anniversary is more than just a milestone—it’s a thank you. Thank you to the students, past and present, who have brought energy and joy into every class. Thank you to the parents and families who have trusted us with their children’s growth. Thank you to our dedicated teachers who pour their hearts into every lesson. Thank you to our incredibly talented costume team who work tirelessly to make our summer shows so spectacular. And thank you to our wider community, who continue to support and cheer us on from the wings.

Our big anniversary show, Dance Fusion 2025, will be held at the Rhyl Pavilion on the 12th and 13th of July, and it’s shaping up to be one of our most spectacular performances yet.

Looking ahead, I’m as excited as ever. We’re always expanding our classes, welcoming new faces, and exploring new opportunities to serve and inspire our community through dance.
